Heart was born out of a deep belief that food and health can be better represented in media to be more inclusive, holistic, sustainable, and pleasurable in order to improve people’s relationship to food and the impact on our planet.
We believe deeply in the core tenets of the global B Corp movement, which inspires and supports for-profit companies to think and measure themselves differently about social and environmental standards, sustainability, and accountability.
B Corp companies, like Heart, use a different set of metrics, alongside profit and revenue, to measure positive impact on the globe and its people and environment, in addition to our particular customers, employees and neighbors in Portland, Oregon. Heart received its official B Corp certification in 2020 by the non-profit B Lab and continues to measure itself publicly against the standards set by this third-party organization.
Being a Certified B Corp is a no-brainer for us. It aligns with our purpose, creates structure and accountability, and opens us up to an engaged, rad community of folks who are all pouring their energy and hearts each day into making business a force for good.
